United Nations Global Compact
This voluntary worldwide initiative encourages companies and organizations to act as good members of society by being responsible and creative leaders and help materialize achieve sustainable growth. Companies are encouraged to implement and comply with this initiative's Ten Principles, covering such areas as human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption.
RE100
The Climate Group launched this global corporate initiative in 2014 to bring together companies committed to 100% renewable energy. That U.K.-based international environmental nongovernment organization had 164 corporate members worldwide as of February 2019.
The Ricoh Group has earned regard externally for its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. ESG indexes in Japan and abroad have included Ricoh's stock.
Dow Jones Sustainability Indices
Dow Jones Sustainability Indices, compiled by Dow Jones & Company and sustainability investment research firm S&P Global, was the first global sustainability index to assess a company's corporate sustainability from the economic, environmental, and social development perspectives. Ricoh received high evaluations in all areas of “Governance & Economic,” “Environment,” and “Social.”
Ricoh has also been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index since 2020 and in the Asia Pacific Index since 2018.
Sustainability Yearbook
Ricoh has been selected as a member of the Sustainability Yearbook 2024, with a score within the top 1%* in its industry, by S&P Global, an American company and one of the world's leaders in corporate ratings.
In the Computers & Peripherals and Office Electronics industry, two companies including Ricoh were in the top 1% and five others in the top 5%. This marks the sixth consecutive year, since 2019, that Ricoh has been selected as a member of the Sustainability Yearbook.

FTSE4Good Index Series
FTSE Russell developed the FTSE4Good Index. Since 2001, that wholly owned subsidiary of the London Stock Exchange Group has selected companies with strong environmental, social, and governance practices for inclusion in that benchmark.
FTSE Blossom Japan Index
This benchmark was created in 2017 to focus on Japanese companies. The Government Pension Investment Fund of Japan has since adopted that benchmark as its share price index for environmental, social, and governance investments.
FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index
The FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index is created by global index provider FTSE Russell. It reflects the performance of Japanese companies that demonstrate strong environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices relative to their respective sectors and is designed to be sector neutral.

The MSCI ESG Ratings, conducted by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), assess how well companies manage ESG risks and rate them on a seven-point scale of AAA to CCC according to their exposure to ESG risks and how well they manage those risks relative to peers.
Ricoh has received the highest rating of AAA in the MSCI ESG Ratings, a globally recognized benchmark for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) investments, in February 2024. Up from the previous AA rating, this is Ricoh's first time to receive AAA rating based on its high marks in Human Capital Development and Governance categories, as well as significant improvements in the disclosure of all categories.
MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN)
This index calculates scores for companies based on disclosure relating to the proportions of women hired and managerial positions held by women and diversity initiatives. It includes companies with long-term sustainable growth prospects. Japan's Government Pension Investment Fund uses this benchmark in selecting equities for investment.
MSCI Nihonkabu ESG Select Leaders Index
MSCI selects companies with high ESG ratings from the constituents of the MSCI Nihonkabu IMI Index and includes those companies in the index until 50% of the companies in each industry are covered. This index has been adopted as the ESG investment index by GPIF.
MSCI ESG Leaders Indexes
This is a representative global index that selects companies with high ESG ratings based on MSCI ESG Ratings, compared to their peers within each sector of the parent index.
S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index
S&P Dow Jones Indices, one of the world's largest independent index companies, builds the index based on the Trucost carbon emissions data. This index targets TOPIX constituent companies that have a high carbon efficiency within the same industry based on market capitalization, and increases the investment weight of companies disclose information on greenhouse gas emissions. It is also a global environmental stock index adopted by GPIF in 2018, and Ricoh has been continuously included in the index since then.
ISS ESG Corporate Rating
One of the world's leading rating agencies for sustainable investments, ISS ESG has given the Ricoh Group a Prime sustainability rating.
The Ricoh Group received a Prime rating on the ISS ESG Corporate Rating consecutively.
EcoVadis
Ricoh has been awarded a Gold rating from EcoVadis, the world's most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. Placing Ricoh amongst the top 5% of companies assessed, this marks Ricoh's tenth consecutive year since 2014 to receive this recognition.
CDP CLIMATE and WATER
Ricoh's global leadership in corporate transparency and performance on climate change and water security disclosure have been recognized by global environmental non-profit CDP, securing a place on its 2023 A list. This double A score marks Ricoh's first selection on the water security A list and fourth consecutive year on the climate change A list since 2020.
Supplier Engagement Leader
Ricoh has been selected as one of the Supplier Engagement Leaders for disclosing actionable, high quality environmental data, the highest score based on the Supplier Engagement Rating (SER) by CDP, a non-profit organization that runs the leading global disclosure system for environmental impacts. This marks the fourth consecutive selection for Ricoh.
In SER, CDP evaluates organizations in four key areas of the CDP climate change questionnaire related to governance, targets, Scope 3 emissions accounting and supplier engagement, in addition to factoring in the overall CDP climate change performance, and rates them on an eight-point scale of A to D-. Approximately 450 companies, were recognized as Supplier Engagement Leaders in 2023.
Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations
Ricoh has been rated as one of the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations. This marks the 12th selection for Ricoh, which was selected for 10 consecutive years from 2005 to 2014, and following last year's selection.
The Global 100 is an annual ranking of the world's most sustainable corporations published by Canada-based Corporate Knights. The assessment is executed across key indicators including environmental, social and governance performance, sustainable revenue, sustainable investment, climate-related lobbying activities, and sustainability pay link.
Morningstar Japan ex-REIT Gender Diversity Tilt Index
This is an index selected by Morningstar, which emphasizes companies where Gender Diversity Policy has become ingrained as a corporate culture, and companies that promise equal opportunities to their employees regardless of gender. It has been adopted as the ESG investment index by GPIF. Companies are classified into five groups based on their scores, and Ricoh was selected in the Group 2 in July 2024.
